Gorson Bugyal


Gurson Bugyal (Gorso Bugyal) is located at an altitude of 3056 mts, just 3 kms trek from Auli. It is a large land of green pastures surrounded by coniferous forest and oak trees. You can also trek towards Chattarkund, which is just 1 km away from Gurso Bugyal. Chattarkund is famous for its sweet water and is located in the centre of a dense forest. Do take help from local people or guide to reach Chattarkund.



Niti Valley


Niti is a small village located in the Niti valley of Joshimath. Niti is the last village and outpost in Indo-Tibetan border in Chamoli district. At an height of 3600 mtrs, Niti is situated near southern Tibetan border. The Niti Pass located at 5800 mtrs connects India with Tibet. Alka Puri in Badrinath - The Venerated Source of River Alaknanda Alkapuri is the source of river Alaknanda river. It is situated at the base of Balakun peak at 4,600 metres above sea level near Badrinath in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.



Pandukeshwar


Pandukeshwar is a sacred place located in-route to abode of Lord Vishnu 'Badrinath' at an elevation of 1829 mtrs. At a distance of 18 km from Joshimath, Pandukeshwar, as per believe is the place where King Pandu, father of great Pandavas of Mahabharat epic, worshipped Lord Shiva. There are two famous temples in Pandukeshwar. Yogadhyan Badri Temple, one of 'Sapta Badri' or seven Badri's and other is Lord Vasudev Temple. Yogadhyan Badri Temple is the abode of Utsava-murti (festival-image) in winters when Badrinath is closed. Lord Vasudev Temple was believed to be built by Pandavas..
